Low voltage, high responsibility — master the essentials of 12V and 24V systems.
This Automotive Electrical course is designed for electricians, auto electricians, maintenance teams, apprentices, and plant personnel working with Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems — including 12V and 24V automotive and mobile plant installations.
Whether you’re fault-finding, modifying, or maintaining ELV systems on light vehicles, heavy machinery, or underground equipment, this course arms you with the knowledge and standards to work safely, effectively, and compliantly in high-risk environments.
Participants will learn how to:
- Apply ELV electrical safety principles in accordance with AS 5368
- Identify hazards and prevent electric shock, fire, and system failure
- Properly install and maintain batteries, alternators, isolators, and jump-start terminals
- Route and protect cabling to avoid abrasion, thermal, or mechanical damage
- Understand proper earthing and equipotential bonding, especially across articulated joints
- Inspect, test, and tag ELV circuits and multimeters used in ELV environments
- Manage modifications, labelling, spare equipment, and site documentation
- Comply with site standards, WHS regulations, and inspection protocols
If you work around 12/24V DC systems, this course gives you the hands-on understanding and compliance know-how to keep your crew safe and your site running.
From battery to breaker — get it right the first time.
