About the Course

Electrical Safety Awareness for Hot Work

This ELECTRICAL WELDING SAFETY course is purpose-built for boilermakers, spotters, supervisors, and electrical trades involved in hot work activities. Developed to reinforce safe electrical practices during hot work tasks, this training delivers real-world, site-specific knowledge that helps prevent electric shock incidents before they happen.

Through practical scenarios, real-life case studies, and step-by-step guidance, this course empowers workers to:

  • Understand the legal and site-specific responsibilities under WHS and Mines Regulations
  • Identify and control electrical hazards during grinding and welding operations
  • Choose and inspect the right tools (e.g. battery-operated vs 240V equipment)
  • Assess environmental conditions like moisture and damp work areas
  • Apply the correct hot work permits and pre-welding assessment checklists
  • Use control measures for Category A, B & C welding environments
  • Improve personal safety through better PPE, cable management, and worksite planning

Whether you’re grinding in the yard or welding in the CHPP, this training helps you think ahead, plan smarter, and work safer — because when it comes to electricity, there are no second chances.

Learn the standards. Live the practice. Go home safe.
